THE ‘once once in a lifetime opportunity’ to own a Weymouth beach has gone to a lucky bidder for £86,000. The news that one Castle Cove Beach was up for sale with a guide price of just £70,000 sparked interest from all over the world in the last few weeks. Hundreds of prospective buyers and interested parties contacted the auctioneers including celebrities Chris Evans, Barbara Windsor and even a nudist group.
Auctioneer and partner of Symonds and Sampson Mark Lewis said: “I’ve never sold anything like this – it’s grabbed the attention of so many people from Puerto Rico and further to local people in Weymouth.
