IT'S TIME TO TAKE A STAND

COVID-19 “ Experimental” Vaccines
You have the right to make an informed decision about your health and your future and you may be asking: Should I take this experimental vaccine? Here are a few facts you should consider to help you make an informed decision.

Facts:
1. According to the Pharmaceutical Companies themselves, these vaccines may not prevent the SARS-COV-2 virus: Evidence: a. From the Moderna and Pfizer Vaccine Fact Sheets: The (Moderna/Pfizer) COVID-19 Vaccine is a vaccine and may prevent you from getting COVID-19. There are no FDA approved vaccines to prevent COVID-19. b. However, the handout you get when they give you the shot, says it “…has been authorized to prevent COVID-19”, so they are lying about it. They are experimental and have been approved by FDA and CDC via an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) but have not been fully tested.

2. These vaccines are experimental compounds that use “synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA)” housed in fat cells. In 2005 an animal study was done with SARS-CoV-1 mRNA vaccines on ferrets. Two doses were administered in the same manner as the SARS-CoV-2, aka, COVID19 mRNA Vaccines. The ferrets showed no adverse reaction and seemed to be completely healthy. After some time, the ferrets were exposed to the SARS-CoV-1 coronavirus in the wild. The ferrets died. The mRNA Vaccine had caused a cytokine storm, a fatal cascade of exaggerated immune responses. The SARS-CoV-1 vaccines was not further developed.

3. Big Parma has asked for the normally required animal studies for the CoV19 vaccine to be waived. It was waived for EUA purposes, so there have been no long-term animal studies to see if this could happen with these new mRNA vaccines. WHY?

4. Because these vaccines may or may not prevent infection, and as some reports show, only reduce symptoms, why take something that does not prevent the infection in the first place. It is a proven fact, with hundreds of scientific studies to prove it, that Zinc and Zinc ionophores can prevent or mitigate infection in the first place; take them as supplements and you are protected. The CDC recently said that 80% of all people who were infected with COVID-19 were deficient in Vitamin D, another Zinc ligand (metal binding) ionophore (transporter). And this helps explains why Sub-Saharan Africa and other countries where most people are in the sun a lot only have marginal deaths from this virus.

5. Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) is a 65-year-old drug that has been shown to stop an infection if taken within the first 2 – 7 days of getting symptoms from COVID-19. So, if you are taking your preventative Vitamins like C, D, E and Quercetin, and/or other supplements like Melatonin plus Zinc, and for some reason this doesn’t prevent infection, you can stop it with HCQ + zinc; which is readily available online.

 6. Other synthetic drugs like Budesonide, Dexamethasone, Ivermectin as well as natural substances (i.e., vitamins, flavonoids, amino acids, and hormones) can be found in the Pharmaceutical Zinc20 database, a database funded by a subsidiary of NIH. This database is comprised of ligands, which carry metals like Zinc, Calcium and other micronutrients present in our blood serum and transport them across cell membranes into the body of the cell (cytoplasm) to help our immune system fight infection. Like HCQ, these synthetic drugs need zinc and other micronutrient metals to work. Dr. Zelenko uses the analogy “the drug is the gun and zinc is the bullet” which is essential to stopping the viral reproduction and resulting infection.

7. Because these “Vaccines” are unproven experimental substances, we won’t know what side effects may occur for months or years to come, but it may result in a long-term unnatural human manipulation of our DNA building blocks. Do you really want to take that risk or risk your children’s lives? Especially since:

8. There is no pandemic. The number of deaths from COVID-19, which is highly inflated, is no worse than a bad flu season. And your chances of dying from it, even if you do nothing to protect yourself as defined in #3 and #4 above, are very small according to CDC data. Especially if you are under 60 years old.

9. Since both experimental vaccines are EUA, both Pfizer and Moderna are indemnified from all legal action resulting from patients experiencing side effects; including death. Since they assume no risk, you are the one who takes all of it! And according to Dr. Sherri Tenpenny that is not a good idea.

10. According to Dr. Richard Fleming, Ph.D, MD, JD, a renowned cardiologist and researcher, there is a chance that the mRNA from the vaccine can be incorporated into your human DNA by action of the reverse transcriptase enzyme present in the vaccine. This may affect your auto immune system and result in various auto immune diseases. However, for all you who are taking zinc supplements + ionophores and decide to get vaccinated, Dr Fleming stated that he believes Zinc does appear to interfere with the mRNA process of the vaccines to make the spike protein. This means it will probably reduce the symptoms you can get, so make sure you are taking them.

11. The vaccine nano particles of lipid/fat composition, in which the mRNA is transported into your cells, has never been used before in human trials and long-term health effects have not been determined. These lipid nano particles bind with the normal fats in cell membranes and allow entry of thousands of the synthetic mRNA vaccine into your muscle cells. Unlike the virus RNA which has to enter through the ACE-2 receptors found on cells, the nano particles create new pathways into cells. Because the ACE-2 receptor sites are where the normal entry of the virus occurs, bypassing this means a greater amount of mRNA can enter the cell producing increased amounts of the spike protein exacerbating the immune response to the virus. This increased immune reaction can produce the very InflammoThrombotic Response (ITR) responsible for so many deaths. Again, long-term health effects are not known since long-term studies in lab animals have not been conducted. We humans have become the lab rats.

12. According to Dr. Simone Gold, MD, JD, Pharmaceutical companies will track and measure all side effects from these experimental vaccines and enter data into the CDC VAERS database in order to perform statistics on us human guinea pigs/rats. Like real lab animals you cannot sue these pharmaceutical companies for suffering from any side effects after taking these experimental vaccines. However, companies requiring CoV19 vaccinations as a requirement for employment may be subject to legal action since it violates our civil rights.

13. The choice to take an experimental EUA COVID-19 vaccine is yours to make. Hopefully we have given you the facts to make a better-informed decision.

Earn This ..... by Allen West

Greetings, everyone!

Today is Memorial Day. I humbly pray y'all are not running around and saying "Happy Memorial Day." Today is not about happiness, it is about honor! Today is about those who gave the last full measure of devotion; the ultimate sacrifice for country, and for those who desire liberty and freedom from tyranny. Today is a day when we should focus less on barbecues, swimming pools, and retail sales, and instead, take a walk among the gardens of stone. I suppose if we could fully realize the folly of saying "Happy Memorial Day" and replace it with "Honor Memorial Day," we would indeed honor this day . . . not just today, but every day.

The title of this missive should be remembered and recognized by everyone, it comes from the movie, "Saving Private Ryan."  I am quite sure that the movie will be playing today. It is a story from the Greatest Generation and the day of the largest amphibious operation in history, Operation Overlord, known as D-Day, June 6, 1944. The movie tells the story of Ranger Company Commander, CPT Miller, portrayed by Tom Hanks. The opening is without a doubt the most graphic and true portrayal of what it was like for our brave American heroes who hit the beaches of Normandy. The crux of the film is that one young paratrooper in the 101st Airborne Division, PVT Ryan, played by Matt Damon, has unknowingly lost all of his three brothers in combat . . . and all three letters arrived at once to a patriotic mother. The decision was made to find Ryan and get him back home, a mission that fell to CPT Miller and a select few from his infantry company.

They do find PVT Ryan during an anti-armor ambush against the Germans. Instead of being immediately extracted, Ryan refuses to leave his fellow "troopers" as there is an imminent German counter-offensive coming to capture a critical bridge crossing. In the end, all of CPT Miller's group, save one, are killed, along with most of Ryan's squad. CPT Miller is shot, and as he is dying, he pulls Ryan close to him and utters these impactful two words, "earn this."

Today, there are generations of those laid to rest in the gardens of stone who are calling out to America, "earn this."T hey are challenging us, just as CPT Miller did, to earn the sacrifices of their llives.

Vincent Speranza, 101st Airborne Division,
Battle of Bastongne veteran

TThe end of the movie goes forward to a grown Ryan, older, asking his wife to "tell me I was a good man, tell me I lived a good life."

America -- Texas -- if we were to ask ourselves if we are truly earning the sacrifices of those for whom we honor today, what would our honest answer be?

There are still World War II Veterans who are alive. Recently, I lost a dear friend, Ray Lambert, a veteran of the 16th Infantry Regiment, First Infantry Division, Omaha Beach, Normandy. These men who fought the vilest of tyrannies, National Socialist (Nazi) Germany, fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan, probably never believed they would find those very principles, tyranny, existing in their very own America. Our brave heroes who gave their lives fighting against Stalinism, socialism, and communism would have never thought there would be a Communist Party USA, Antifa, or a Marxist organization calling themselves BLM, who have recently aligned themselves with an Islamic jihadist group, Hamas.
How many of those who have lost their lives at the hands of Islamic jihadists in Iraq, Afghanistan, or at home such as 9-11, would believe we would have members of our very own Congress supporting Islamic terrorist groups. Or that we would have
Islamic legal jihadists as part of a DoD working group seeking our "extremists" in our military, meaning conservatives.

Ray Lambert, 16th Infantry Division, veteran of World War II, Omaha Beach, June 6, 1944

Our honored dead must be rolling in their graves knowing that a US military officer was relieved of command for speaking out against Marxism, the antithesis of our Constitutional Republic and its fundamental principles. After all, those who made the ultimate sacrifice took an oath to support and defend our constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. But, it appears to be quite en vogue to undermine our rule of law.

Does anyone believe that we "earn this" by having wide-open borders that allow illegal immigrants to flood our country, commit horrific acts of violence, such as the illegal immigrant who murdered Mollie Tibbets in Iowa? Is that how we Honor Memorial Day, by enabling the undermining of our very own country?

Do we honor our fallen by voting into office -- including the highest office in the land -- those who truly believe America is a horrible country, racist, and redefines our history and founding to align with the new Marxist ideology of racial divisiveness? Yes, I am quite sure there are those who think everything is just great now in America. They are the ones who probably have never visited the gardens of stone and hold our real heroes in utter disdain. They are not "earning this." They are destroying this, for which many have died to support and defend.

CPL Herman "Buck" West, Sr., World War II veteran

My dad and mom are among those buried in a national cemetery. My resolve and dedication to fight for America emanate from them, the original "Guardians of the Republic" in our family. Every day of my life is dedicated to that simple challenge, "earn this." At the age of fifteen, my dad challenged me to be the first officer in our family. It was a great day when Dad and Mom pinned on my Second Lieutenant rank on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

July 31, 1982

Today, Memorial Day 2021, be still and listen, America, and you will hear it, the voices of those men and women who have gone before us. They are saying "earn this."

Will you accept the challenge going forward? Or, will you continue to say "Happy Memorial Day," and spit upon the hallowed ground fertilized by the blood of heroes, and watered by the tears of those they left behind?

Jesus once said to His apostles at the last supper, " . . . this do in remembrance of Me." What are you doing today -- and every day -- in remembrance of our fallen Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen? And, spare me the insidious gender-neutral bovine excrement!

HONOR MEMORIAL DAY!!!!

Steadfast and Loyal,

Allen B West

Puerto Rico Eyes Chinese Investment via Tariff-Free US Trade

Puerto Rico Eyes Chinese Investment via Tariff-Free US TradePuerto Rico Eyes Chinese Investment via Tariff-Free US Trade

(Yicai Global) Nov. 19, 2018 -- Puerto Rico aims to leverage its position as an unincorporated US territory to encourage investment from Chinese companies seeking tariff-free entry into the American market.

Products from factories set up by Chinese companies in the Caribbean territory would enjoy the same rights as those set up in the US, Luis Fortuno, former governor of Puerto Rico, told Yicai Global in an interview at the 2018 Puerto Rico Investment Forum held in Shanghai on Nov. 14.

Figures from the territory's political and business fields recently came to China, hoping to attract Chinese companies to invest. The biggest advantage of investing in Puerto Rico for manufacturing firms in the tariff-free environment for locally produced goods shipped to the US, while the local tax rate is only four percent, Fortuno said.

The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the US located in the northeast Caribbean Sea, about 1,600 kilometers southeast of Miami, Florida with San Juan as its capital.

Puerto Rico possesses great advantages in manufacturing and tourism investment since its investment preference bill and tax laws are independent of the US due to its special status, Fortuno said.

A Chinese company which sets up a plant in Puerto Rico would enjoy no tariffs when transporting goods to the US since it is equivalent to transporting from one state of the US to another, Fortuno told Yicai Global, adding that the place a great choice and attractive option for many Chinese manufacturing firms that rely on the US and Latin American markets.

Puerto Rico receives less federal funding than the US states though people there do not have to pay US federal income taxes. Ricardo Rossello, governor of Puerto Rico, declared the government's bankruptcy and applied for bankruptcy protection to the US federal court in May last year, which is the first time that a US overseas territory has gone bust. Hurricane Maria caused even greater losses for Puerto Rico in September last year.

The US government has invested considerable funds and has guided post-disaster reconstruction in recent years. The US Treasury Department announced on Oct. 19 that investors who provide funding for projects in underdeveloped regions will receive high tax breaks.

Sidney Powell to Newsmax TV: Dominion Designed to ‘Rig Elections’

Sidney Powell to Newsmax TV: Dominion Designed to ‘Rig Elections’ In building its case for multi-state audits of those relying on Dominion Voting Systems, the Trump legal team has a former Venezuelan official saying it was designed to rig elections, according to former federal prosecutor Sidney Powell on Newsmax TV.

“The math just doesn’t add up for anything and we know Dominion has a long history of rigging elections, because that’s what it was created to do to begin with,” Powell told Tuesday’s “Greg Kelly Reports,” noting even the “founder of the company admits he can change a million votes, no problem at all.”

Powell told host Greg Kelly the team has an affidavit of a former high-ranking Venezuelan military officer who now lives in America, saying he saw the rigging of Venezuelan elections for Hugo Chavez.

“So don’t tell me there’s no evidence of fraud,” she continued. “We’ve got increasingly mounting evidence of significant fraud across multiple states that casts into question the validity of elections in every swing state.”

It is not just limited to Nevada, Arizona, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Georgia either, she said. adding “it went beyond that, too.”

Powell said the ease of changing vote tallies and manipulating results was a “feature” of the devices, according to the military officer’s affidavit.

“It was created so Hugo Chavez would never lose another election, and he did not after that software was created,” Powell said. “He won every single election and then they exported it to Argentina and other countries in South America, and then they brought it here.”

Powell also argued, as a foreign company, the use of that election system already violated President Donald Trump’s order against foreign interference in our election.

“Our votes were eventually counted in Barcelona, Spain, or Frankfurt, Germany, on foreign servers,” Powell claimed. “It’s absolutely stunning.”

And that includes the Democrat and mainstream media’s efforts to ignore the corruption.

“What’s really stunning is the efforts against getting the stuff out on this,” she concluded. “But you have to realize every tech company, every media company, every social media company, scads of globalist corporations have been doing business in countries with these dictators that have been installed through this rigged election system for decades.”

No podemos rendirnos!

Tony Fauci and the Swine Flu disaster; betrayal of trust

By Jon Rappoport
August 14, 2020

Tony Fauci and the Swine Flu disaster; betrayal of trust
(To read about Jon's mega-collection, The Matrix Revealedclick here.)
I take you back to the summer of 2009, when the CDC and the World Health Organization were hyping the "deadly H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic."

They were, of course, also urging people to take the new Swine Flu vaccine.  On that subject, here is an excerpt from Robert Kennedy Jr.'s Children's Health Defense (3/27/20):

"For example, [Dr. Anthony] Fauci once shilled for the fast-tracked H1N1 influenza ('swine flu') vaccine on YouTube, reassuring viewers in 2009 that serious adverse events were 'very, very, very rare.' Shortly thereafter, the vaccine went on to wreak havoc in multiple countries, increasing miscarriage risks in pregnant women in the U.S., provoking a spike in adolescent narcolepsy in Scandinavia and causing febrile convulsions in one in every 110 vaccinated children in Australia---prompting the latter to suspend its influenza vaccination program in under-fives."

Thank you. Dr. Fauci.  Explain to us why you haven't been downgraded to pumping gas in Death Valley or sent to prison?

However, that is only half the Swine Flu story.  The other half---which involves an astounding hoax---was surely something Fauci was aware of at the time.

Fauci was, in fact, recommending a highly dangerous vaccine for protection against AN EPIDEMIC THAT DIDN'T EXIST AT ALL.

His friends and professional colleagues at the CDC were creating the hoax.

Let me run it down for you.

In the summer of 2009, the CDC was claiming there were thousands of Swine Flu cases in the US.  But behind these statistics lay an unnerving secret.  A major crime, considering the CDC's mandate to report the truth to the American people:

Secretly, the CDC had stopped counting cases of Swine Flu.

What?  Why?

CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, discovered the CDC secret; and she found out why.

The routine lab testing of tissue samples from the most likely Swine Flu patients was coming back, in the overwhelming percentage of cases, with: NO SIGN OF SWINE FLU OR ANY OTHER KIND OF FLU.

Attkisson wrote an article about this scandal, and it was published on the CBS News website.  However, the next, bigger step---putting out the story on CBS television news---was waylaid.  No deal.  And CBS shut down any future investigation on the subject.  Attkisson's article died on the vine.  No other major news outlet in the world picked up her article and ran with it deeper into the rabbit hole.

Here is what Attkisson told me when I interviewed her:

Rappoport: In 2009, you spearheaded coverage of the so-called Swine Flu pandemic. You discovered that, in the summer of 2009, the Centers for Disease Control, ignoring their federal mandate, [secretly] stopped counting Swine Flu cases in America. Yet they continued to stir up fear about the "pandemic," without having any real measure of its impact. Wasn't that another investigation of yours that was shut down? Wasn't there more to find out?

Attkisson: The implications of the story were even worse than that. We discovered through our FOI efforts that before the CDC mysteriously stopped counting Swine Flu cases, they had learned that almost none of the cases they had counted as Swine Flu was, in fact, Swine Flu or any sort of flu at all! The interest in the story from one [CBS] executive was very enthusiastic. He said it was "the most original story" he'd seen on the whole Swine Flu epidemic. But others pushed to stop it [after it was published on the CBS News website] and, in the end, no [CBS television news] broadcast wanted to touch it. We aired numerous stories pumping up the idea of an epidemic, but not the one that would shed original, new light on all the hype. It was fair, accurate, legally approved and a heck of a story. With the CDC keeping the true Swine Flu stats secret, it meant that many in the public took and gave their children an experimental vaccine that may not have been necessary.

---end of interview excerpt---

So...fake pandemic, CDC crimes, and a damaging vaccine.

But that wasn't end of it.  The CDC wanted to commit another crime.  About three weeks after Attkisson's findings were published on the CBS News website, the CDC, obviously in a panic, decided to double down.  If one lie is exposed, tell an even bigger one.  A much bigger one.

Here, from a November 12, 2009, WebMD article is the CDC's response: "Shockingly, 14 million to 34 million U.S. residents - the CDC's best guess is 22 million - came down with H1N1 swine flu by Oct. 17 [2009]." ("22 million cases of Swine Flu in US," by Daniel J. DeNoon).

Are your eyeballs popping?  They should be.

Fast forward to 2020.  Who in his right mind, armed with a little history, would believe anything the CDC is saying about COVID-19?  The discovery of a new coronavirus. the case numbers, the accuracy of the diagnostic tests, the need for lockdowns and economic devastation, the safety and importance of a vaccine, the fear porn?  Who would believe any of it?

And who would believe anything coming out of the mouth of Dr. Anthony Fauci, who hyped a highly destructive Swine Flu vaccine for an epidemic that didn't exist at all?

Only a fool.

House Democrats pass DC statehood bill Friday

POLITICS by CNN
NEW
Published
June 26, 2020
House Democrats approved a bill to admit Washington, DC, as a state on Friday, marking the first time either chamber of Congress has advanced a DC statehood measure.

The bill, introduced by DC’s nonvoting House member, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton, would shrink the federal capital to a small area encompassing the White House, Capitol building, Supreme Court, and other federal buildings along the National Mall. The rest of the city would become the 51st state, named the Washington, Douglass Commonwealth after abolitionist Frederick Douglass.

The bill passed with a vote of 232-180. Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota was the only Democrat to join Republicans in voting against it. Independent Rep. Justin Amash of Michigan also voted no.

The bill would grant DC two senators and make the existing sole House representative a voting member.

It is unlikely to gain traction in the Republican-held Senate, however, and the White House said this week that President Donald Trump would veto the bill if it came to his desk.

Trump told the New York Post in an interview last month that DC statehood will “never happen unless we have some very, very stupid Republicans.”
“DC will never be a state,” Trump said in the interview. “You mean District of Columbia, a state? Why? So we can have two more Democratic — Democrat senators and five more congressmen? No thank you. That’ll never happen.

Democrats in recent weeks have argued the necessity for statehood has never been clearer, after the Trump administration mobilized federal law enforcement to respond to protests about systemic racism in policing. They expressed outrage with the decision to forcibly clear peaceful protesters from outside the White House earlier this month, which was done to allow Trump’s photo op at St. John’s church.

“Not only do we not have voting senators and our congresswoman not have the right to vote, the whims of the federal government can encroach on our even limited autonomy, and it can do so in ways that are threats to all of the American states and all of the American people,” Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser said Thursday. “Let’s fight back against the cries that we’re too liberal or we’re too black or there are too many Democrats. Who we elect is our business, and the business of America is to make sure that each person is represented fully in this House and in the Senate of the United States of America.”

Proponents of making DC a state also point to the area’s large population, which surpasses the populations of Wyoming and Vermont. As of June 2019, DC had more than 705,000 residents, according to estimates from the US Census Bureau.

To become law, the bill’s supporters argue it would only have to pass both chambers of Congress with a simple majority and then be signed by the President. They say the legislation’s strategy of resizing the capital area would sidestep constitutional questions about making the rest of DC a state. But Republicans who oppose DC statehood maintain that adding the district as a state would require a constitutional amendment.

During House floor debate on the bill, Republican Rep. Gregory Murphy of North Carolina argued for Congress to cede the land back to Maryland instead of making DC its own state. “The move is simply unnecessary when ceding DC back to Maryland is a viable, cost-effective and common sense option,” Murphy said.

And Georgia Republican Rep. Jody Hice said DC statehood goes against public opinion and the Constitution.

“What this is really all about is an attempt to get two more Democratic senators,” he claimed.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi pushed back in her floor remarks: “Statehood for the district is about showing respect for our democracy,” she said. “It’s not just about the district. It’s about democracy for the American people and for our US Constitution.”

U.S. SEC judge throws out complaint against UBS Puerto Rico execs

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico, Oct 30, 2013  (Reuters) - A Securities and Exchange Commission judge dismissed a complaint against two top executives of UBS Puerto Rico as it prepares to fight off a flood of legal complaints prompted by local investor losses adding up to $4.5 billion so far this year.

Chief Administrative Law Judge Brenda P. Murray ruled on Tuesday that the SEC failed to prove its complaint against the executives, Miguel A. Ferrer, formerly chairman and chief executive of UBS Puerto Rico, a unit of Swiss bank UBS AG, and Carlos J. Ortiz, managing director of Capital Markets at UBS Puerto Rico, which is the U.S. territory’s largest securities dealer .

The two were accused of misleading investors to conceal a liquidity crisis and mask UBS’ control of the secondary market for 23 proprietary closed-end funds.

“I do not find that the preponderance of the evidence supports the division’s allegation that UBS PR, Ferrer, and Ortiz engaged in a fraudulent course of conduct or a scheme to mislead customers ... when they represented the funds as profitable, safe, and stable investments and that supply and demand were responsible for Fund prices,” Murray wrote.

“The record shows that the closed-end fund market in Puerto Rico was unique, but that it was based on the peculiarities of that sui generis market. The fund situation was odd compared to other securities in other markets, but the preponderance of the evidence is that in 2008-2009, there was a solid factual basis which showed the pricing of fund shares to be proper and legitimate.”

The SEC had alleged the UBS officials committed fraud by promoting the funds as good investments to clients, while the firm was selling its own shares because of concerns that its exposure posed too large a financial risk, undercutting clients’ sell orders in the process.

Murray found that “given the disclosures contained in the prospectus, brochures, and other literature, and its own trading practices, it was lawful for UBS PR to post firm bids that were below an open marketable customer order.”

Therefore, the judge said, UBS PR, Ferrer, and Ortiz did not engage in fraud, mislead customers and financial advisers or violate their fiduciary duties.

“Because I found no primary violations, all the aiding and abetting and causing charges do not stand,” she wrote.

“MERITLESS”

“As the firm has maintained since first disclosing this investigation in 2010, the allegations against Mr. Ferrer and Mr. Ortiz were meritless, and the judge’s decision today confirms our position,” the company said in a statement.

The complaint, covering 2008-2009, was “a period of significant turmoil in the global financial markets,” UBS said in the statement.

UBS Puerto Rico is in the midst of another closed-end fund headache, facing a flood of lawsuits and regulatory inquiries after a sharp downturn in the value of Puerto Rico government bonds. It resulted in big losses for investors in closed-end funds, whose holdings consisted largely of Puerto Rico government bonds.

In May 2012, UBS Puerto Rico agreed to pay $26.6 million to settle SEC charges related to misrepresenting and omitting material facts about its Puerto Rico closed-end bond funds, but Ferrer and Ortiz contested the charges.

Investors lost $2.25 billion in September 2013 alone through funds invested in Puerto Rico government bonds and other island-based securities, as their overall value fell to $7.31 billion from $9.56 billion, according to the Puerto Rico Financial Institutions Commissioner’s Office.

The losses on Puerto Rico bond and securities investments add up to $3.7 billion so far this year, according to the commissioner’s office. The figure balloons to $4.52 billion when non-local fund investments are added in.

Local losses may not have stopped. There is little or no liquidity in the closed-end fund market, Financial Institutions Commissioner Rafael Blanco said. The lack of liquidity is exacerbated by rules requiring the tax-exempt funds only be sold to Puerto Rico residents.

In all there are 48 funds, known as investment companies, in Puerto Rico, with combined assets of $15 billion, according to local press reports.

"Soy estadista, no penepé"

  • 6 junio 2020

No podemos rendirnos!

ADMISSION TO THE UNION

(WIKIPEDIA)

The Admission to the Union Clause of the United States Constitution, often called the New States Clause, found at Article IV, Section 3, Clause 1, authorizes the Congress to admit new states into the United Statesbeyond the thirteen already in existence at the time the Constitution went into effect.
Senator Miriam J Ramirez raises
gigantic USA flag in SJ Puerto Rico
The Constitution went into effect on June 21, 1788, after ratification by 9 of the 13 states, and the federal government began operations under it on March 4, 1789.[1]Since then, 37 additional states have been admitted into the Union. Each new state has been admitted on an equal footing with those already in existence.[2]
Of the 37 states admitted to the Union by Congress, all but six have been established within an existing U.S. organized incorporated territory. A state so created might encompass all or a portion of a territory. When the people of a territory or a region thereof have grown to a sufficient population and make their desire for statehood known to the federal government, in most cases Congress passed an enabling act authorizing the people of that territory or region to frame a proposed state constitution as a step toward admission to the Union. Although the use of an enabling act was a common historic practice, a number of states were admitted to the Union without one.
In many instances, an enabling act would detail the mechanism by which the territory would be admitted as a state following ratification of their constitution and election of state officers. Although the use of such an act is a traditional historic practice, a number of territories have drafted constitutions for submission to Congress absent an enabling act and were subsequently admitted. The broad outline for this process was established by the Land Ordinance of 1784and the 1787 Northwest Ordinance, both of which predate the present U.S. Constitution.
The Admission to the Union Clause also forbids the creation of new states from parts of existing states without the consent of both the affected states and Congress. The primary intent of this caveat was to give Eastern states that still had western land claims (there were four at that time[which?]) a veto over whether their western counties could become states.[3] This clause has served the same function since, each time a proposal to partition an existing state or states has arisen.
