Immigration, World Poverty and Gumballs

Has the massive illegal immigration from neighboring islands taken a toll on Puerto Rico's economy and quality of life?

Illegal immigration has added thousands, maybe a million or more, of  impoverished non educated persons to Puerto Rico which is faced with bankruptcy, lack of jobs, and resources.
Has this exodus benefited the economy of the surrounding Caribbean countries? I think so..
