Remembering Ramon Luis Lugo - Post #3

RAMON LUIS LUGO (Q.E.P.D.)  
Mr. Luis was associated with SDA for eighteen years, directing SDA's office and operations in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was a well known public policy and political advisor in Puerto Rico and South America. Numerous multinational corporations, as well as all levels of government, have relied on him for public affairs counseling in Washington, Puerto Rico, South America and Europe.

Mr. Luis served in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel during the Carter Administration and as a consultant to the White House and the State Department for the domestic and international travel of President Carter and Vice President Mondale. In this role, he coordinated the President's visit to Panama for the signing of the Panama Canal Treaty and the Vice President's state visits to Nigeria, Panama and The Philippines.

Mr. Luis served as a senior staff assistant in the 1976 Democratic Presidential Campaign and on the 1977 Presidential Inaugural Committee. He was a consultant to the Democratic Party during the 1980, 1984 and 1992 Democratic Presidential campaigns.

Annie Mayol is President and Founder of IMAGEN Strategies, an integrated marketing, communications and grassroots firm focusing on political and policy campaigns domestically and abroad, including work in the countries of Columbia, Guatemala, Bahrain, and Morocco. In November 2008, Mayol served as consultant to Puerto Rico Congressman Luis Fortuno during his successful gubernatorial election, where he defeated the incumbent Governor with the highest margin since Puerto Rico's first elected Governor in 1949 - 52% to 41%. In 2004, she served as Fortuno's campaign manager, who became the first Republican elected to Congress from Puerto Rico in a century.

Mayol was formerly Regional Political Director at the White House Office of Political Affairs, overseeing the Northeast region. As Regional Political Director, she served as the liaison between local elected officials and Republican activists in the Northeast states and the White House.
